How to download iOS 16?

Software updates from Apple are usually quite straightforward. If you haven’t been prompted by a pop-up yet, here’s how to download the new iOS 16 software.

  1. Go to your iPhone settings
  2. Tap General
  3. Tap Software Update
  4. If an update is available, you can tap download and install.

Your phone will need an internet connection and will need to restart, so be sure to pick an appropriate time and place for the update.

iOS 16 is only supported on iPhone 8 models and above, so if you’re using an older phone, you won’t be able to upgrade.
